NTT Solmare Corporation (Headquartered in Osaka, President: Hiroki Oohashi, hereinafter NTT Solmare), owns COMIC- C'moA (*1) -- Japan's No. 1 mobile comic sites, and Tinhvan Group (Headquartered in Hanoi, Chairman and CEO: Hoang To) launched digital comic contents to Viettel(*2), -- a large mobile operator in Vietnam owns mobile content service Icomic.

1．Background and Objectives

Ebook market is growing rapidly. With this opportunity, NTT Solmare will steadily progress its overseas development by making use of domestic experience and mobile content delivery know-how. Vietnamese will soon enjoy the service. Vietnam is focused as an attractive market of mobile contents in Southeast Asia, since it is a country with a population of 86 million people, and 60% of them are under 30 years old, as well as having about 60 million mobile users. On Aug 5th 2010, NTT Solmare and Tinhvan Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement on delivering the outstanding Japanese comic on mobile phone service in Vietnam. Distributing Japanese comic through Viettel’s Icomic will be the first step of this strategic cooperation.

2．Service Summary

6 titles are launched in Vietnamese as a start including the Great, Shirow Masamune’s debut title “APPLESEED” made into online games, “Eleven” a popular title in Vietnam which has also been published in comic books, NTT Solmare’s original title “Always by your side”. We are planning to increase the number of titles sequentially.

3. Future Vision

NTT Solmare and Tinhvan Group will aim to raise the awareness of Japanese comics, and to be a cultural bridge between Japan and Vietnam, by starting the distribution to other major mobile operators in Vietnam, Mobifone and Vinaphone as soon as possible. Using our own experience of domestic success, contents source, and distribution know-how, we will promote global deployment and increase its presence overseas to entertain people all over the world by reading mobile comics.
