In 2002, at the dawn of the broadband era, NTT West, which was responsible for broadband communications in western Japan, established NTT Solmare to spearhead the distribution of digital content.

As part of that mission, we began offering comics via mobile phone in 2004, long before reading on one’s phone was the commonplace activity it is today. These groundbreaking mobile-phone services would become the prototype for our Comic C’moA, now one of Japan’s most comprehensive e-book stores with over 40 million monthly users.

Twenty years have passed since those early ventures, and over the decades we have only continued to grow. Guided by the philosophy of enriching society through the surprise and excitement we offer our customers, we at NTT Solmare have grown to play a pivotal role in both the creation and the distribution of manga and games.

We are confident that Japan’s proud history of manga, games, and other entertainment media has an equally bright future, and we hope to be on the forefront of sharing that creative passion with the world. In addition to further developing our domestic services such as Comic C’moA, we will shift into overdrive to bring the beauty of Japanese media to the global market. This also means pouring our efforts into creating amazing original works and adapting them to animation, live-action film and television, merchandise, and other delightful new forms.
